We were also featured in the September 2022 edition of International Living. Your Stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge We call this jungle paradise home and are dedicated to ensuring your comfort. We live on-site and personally greet you upon arrival. While we may occasionally be off-property, rest assured there's always a trusted team member available to assist you, provide Belize Travel Recommendations, answer questions, or simply chat about Belize. Your satisfaction is our top priority. Our property, certified Gold Standard by the Belize Tourism Board (License #2078), features: No Hidden Fees: We never charge housekeeping or any other hidden fees. (Please note: 9% sales tax is collected as required by Belize.) Outdoor Guest Kitchen: A shared, fully stocked outdoor kitchen and dining area with a full-size refrigerator, six-burner gas stove/oven, charcoal grill, and ample counter space. We provide complimentary ground coffee, sugar, spices, and unlimited filtered water. Guest Laundry Facility: Available at no additional charge. Fresh Produce: We grow fruits, herbs, and vegetables on the property – you're welcome to anything ready for harvest! Belizean Wildlife: Our friendly dog, Milo, and cat, Lucky, have full access to the property and love spending time with guests. Discover Cristo Rey Village & Beyond Cristo Rey Village is a perfect destination for nature lovers. Our lush jungle property sits by the crystal-clear Macal River, ideal for leisurely strolls or kayaking. Take our complimentary 2-person kayak or innertubes out on the river (kayaking recommended in the mornings due to afternoon river rise). You can even find genuine Mayan pottery on our property's ancient mound (please leave it for others to discover!). Lucky Dreamer Lodge is your ideal "jumping off" point for exploring Belize. From our location, you'll have easy access to: Mayan Ruins: Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, ATM Cave, Tikal, and Caracol are all easily accessible. Local Culture & Cuisine: Visit nearby San Ignacio for dining and shopping. Enjoy authentic Maya cooking experiences or hands-on chocolate demonstrations. Nature Adventures: Explore the free "The Showers" waterfall area, visit the Belize Raptor Center (just across the river!), or take an ATV tour to a waterfall in Elijio Panti National Park. Unique Experiences: Hold iguanas at the Iguana Conservation Project, visit Oxmul Coffee for a tour, or explore numerous butterfly farms. Adventure Activities: Ziplining, jungle pontoon water adventures, and horseback riding are all nearby. Mountain Pine Ridge: Discover stunning natural wonders like Big Rock Falls, Rio On Pools, and Rio Frio Cave. Getting Around Public bus and village shuttle services stop right in front of our property daily (Monday-Saturday, 7 am-5 pm) for about $1 US each way, with a 15-minute ride to San Ignacio. Taxis are also readily available. "Pack for a Purpose": We are a proud member of "Pack for a Purpose," collecting donated supplies for the Cayo Animal Welfare Society and Cristo Rey R.C. Village School. Travel Insurance: We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind against unforeseen circumstances. Jungle Environment: While our Belize Jungle Bungalow offers incredible natural beauty, expect heat, humidity, occasional tropical squalls, and potential brief power or water outages (we have a backup generator and water supply). Please avoid food inside the bungalows to prevent attracting jungle bugs. Peaceful Atmosphere: We strive for a calm, serene environment, but embrace the sounds of the jungle (birds at dawn, howler monkeys at night) and village life (roosters, dogs, church music). Holiday Celebrations: Belizeans love to celebrate! Holidays can be lively with music and fireworks, often lasting for days. If you are noise-sensitive, please be aware that holidays like New Year's, Easter, Belize Independence Day (September), and Christmas will be louder than usual.
